It was just a single day trip to Krynica in Poland. Normally it would not be worth mentioning, but there were masses of fresh powder and it was the first time out on the Prior Splitboards. I and Zuber, who is also a proud owner of a Prior Splitboard, have set off from the parking lot, walking up along the piste. It was difficult not to notice all the fresh powder next to the piste, that has not been touched yet (and the big snowfall was 3 days earlier). Shame on you, Polish skiers and snowboarders !!!
So we quickly managed to lay some tracks of our own....
We had 2 runs on a T-bar, but it wasn't great. So we asked the lift attendant for some directions, so we could go touring. We wanted to get to the nearby mountain with a gondola lift and few more trails. He said that we'll have to go past an old unused ski lift. Well it turned out that not only the ski lift is unused but the piste as well. Wide, smooth, powdery..... mmmm
So we stayed on this slope. Had 3 runs down and walked up on our Prior Splitboards. It was superb. The Prior performs in powder like a dream. There is so much lift, that you almost don't need to lean back. The turns are very smooth and the board is very responsive. For me, it was probably the best day on a soft board in the last 6-7 years. Walking up was also a pure pleasure. The board, or actually the 2 halves are very wide, so they do not sink into the snow while you are walking up. Say no more, say no more. Just check out the pics:
